Alex Salcedo, Managing Partner, Recovery Specialist:

Alex Salcedo possesses the desire to go above and beyond all expectations to ensure client satisfaction and strives to keep our recovery homes and treatment center a "Sanctuary For Sobriety." Alex is committed to helping people stay sober and is a huge asset to our organization. Alex brings to the table tremendous business and recovery experience, passion, commitment, honesty and integrity.

Both Chris and Alex are in this business for one reason: To help the still suffering alcoholic and addict get and stay sober. Furthermore, their ability to think outside the box and use their extensive network of licensed therapists, substance abuse counselors, Intensive Outpatient Programs, sober coaches, detox centers, medical doctors and psychiatrists opens the door to an all-encompassing recovery program that goes far beyond sober living and basic Intensive Outpatient services. The programs implemented are all PROVEN to keep people sober and attain life-long sobriety. We give you the tools needed to get and stay sober; the willingness, acceptance and ones ability to surrender must come from within.

Lisa Salcedo, Director of Operations:

Lisa's main goal is client satisfaction. From intakes to dealing with all the parents and family members, Lisa is involved in the entire therapeutic process. She's dedicated to making our clients happy, comfortable and making the transition into sober living and / or treatment as smooth as possible. Lisa is extremely passionate about recovery and makes everybody who walks through our doors feel right at home. Lisa can most relate to family members who have a child suffering with addiction. She is a major asset to our organization and without her passion, commitment and unconditional love, we wouldn't be where we are today.

Kurt Woodburn, Recovery Specialist, Human Resources:

Kurt WKurt Woodburn is a native Arizonan who grew up in the mining communities of Globe and Kearny. In high school, Kurt's claim to fame was winning a pole vault championship with a jump of 13 feet 6 inches. This should tell you a little bit about his personality! After saving his pennies from working in the copper mines, Kurt traveled in Europe for three months before returning to the University of Arizona. Beginning his junior year of college, Kurt identified his substance abuse problem. "Although I would not hit any sort of bottom until a decade later, the warning signs were there. The so-called 'coming of age partying' became a normal pattern of alcohol abuse." An introduction to cocaine came in the late seventies. Kurt refers to cocaine as his mistress for 25 years. During those years he entered the insurance business and managed to prosper to the point of owning his own financial planning business throughout the 1990's. The millennium, and more specifically 2002, brought the end of Kurt's financial career as well as the end of his substance abuse. "The bottom I experienced left me not just financially bankrupt, but soulless." Kurt humbly submitted his life to a power greater than himself from that moment forward. During his time of sobriety he has earned a degree in Chemical Dependency, yet what he brings to the table is actual experience from life's tragedies caused by substance abuse to life's possibilities in sobriety.Kurt is happily married with six children, some grown, some growing (teenagers). He acknowledges that only by grace can he live with these blessings.

"Our common aspiration at Scottsdale Recovery Center is to build a foundation of sobriety on solid rock, not shifting sand. So that when the waves of life come (and they will come), our clients may get knocked down, but when they stand up, the foundation remains."
